Mustang

The former kingdom of Lo, in the rain shadow of the Himalaya, is a high desert of red cliffs, cave dwellings and Tibetan Buddhist monasteries. Lower Mustang has the pilgrimage site of Muktinath; Upper Mustang leads to the walled city of Lo Manthang.
